Abstract:
Dabar repository is a digital base that provides the science and higher education system of the Republic of Croatia with a reliable and publicly accessible place for collecting, storing, organizing, sharing and publishing their digital materials. The repository of the Faculty of Health Studies Rijeka is a part of the digital collection, which stores various types of papers of its students and employees. The aim of this study is to analyze the number of defended bachelor and master theses of Faculty of Health Studies Rijeka from 2018 to 2021 divided into several categories. The defended theses were analyzed according to the type of work (final or graduation thesis), study programs (undergraduate or graduate studies), and the number of published students’ theses of the corresponding department. Given that the Covid-19 pandemic occurred in the mentioned period, the number of defended theses was compared for the period before the pandemic (2018-2019) and during the pandemic (2020-2021). The obtained results indicate a greater share of defended graduation than final theses in the total number of enrolled students in their final years of study. By comparing the number of defended theses according to study programmes, the largest number belongs to the undergraduate professional study of Nursing and the university graduate study of Physiotherapy, which are also followed by the results of the largest share of published theses at the departments of Nursing and Physiotherapy. The share of defended theses is significantly higher during the Covid-19 pandemic then before. Statistical analysis was done in Excel and Statistica programs using data stored in the Faculty repository and the Information System of Higher Education Institutions (ISVU) of Faculty. This paper is the first analysis of the repository Dabar since its establishment at the Faculty of Health Studies Rijeka. The purpose of the paper is to gain an insight into the success of students of the Faculty when completing their studies, and the frequency of theses defended according to study programs and departments before (2018 and 2019) and during the Covid-19 pandemic (2020 and 2021).
