Abstract:
Nursing is a complex and demanding profession. To perform it in a professional and responsible way, a lot of knowledge, patience, and humanity are needed. Even historically, men were worthy of and devoted to the job. Over time, nursing has become a feminized profession, especially after the success and sacrifice of Florence Nightingale. Today, there are few male nursing students, as well as few male nurses, both in the world and in Croatia. A man in nursing faces many problems and challenges daily. Good nurses are in high demand, especially because of the aging population, and that is why the virtues and abilities of male nurses should be more appreciated. In addition to the great responsibility this job brings, a man in nursing has to fight various stereotypes and adapt to many situations.
