Abstract:
The term ‘occupational exposure’ refers to the radiation exposure incurred by a worker during a period of work. Occupational exposure to ionizing radiation can occur in a range of industries, in medical institutions, in educational and research establishments and in nuclear fuel cycle facilities. Occupational radiation protection protects workers against exposure to ionizing radiation. In 2018, Croatia incorporated the Directive 2013/59/Euratom of safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation into the Radiological and Nuclear Safety Act and thus repealed all earlier Directives. This paper gives an overview of the most significant changes related to the field of protection against ionizing radiation of occupationally exposed workers.
